Wendy is a very well qualified teacher.  She has worked continuously in schools for over 30 yrs firstly as a teacher and subject leader for Religious Education but then finally fulfilling her dream of working within Special Education Needs. Wendy has worked in this area for the past 12yrs, specialising in dyslexia.

 

She has been both a successful SENCo and a member of the senior leadership team at school specialising in specific learning needs.

 

Wendy holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties (PG Cert SpLD) which in turn lead to her applying for Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA).  Following this Wendy applied for and holds a current Assessment Practicing Certificate (APC) which enables her to assess for dyslexia, undertake Exam Access Arrangements and carry out post 16 Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) assessments for university students.

 

As well as teaching in a school, Wendy has also provided training for trainee teachers on Phonics and Specific Learning Difficulties.  She also tutors on a Level 5 SpLD course for teachers and is a Professional Practice Tutor on a local university’s MA SpLD course
